Guys... I have the flu... and it SUCKS ASS! *grrrr*
Damn this Miami weather... one minute it's bright, sunny and humid... next minute it's all lightning, thunder, etc... you ALWAYS have to walk with a fricking umbrella. Anyway, keep me in your prayers... I hear that there's a hurricane heading Miami's way.
Anyway, my night out on Thursday night was good... we went to Banana Joe's in Coconut Grove. It was me, Everica, Tiffany, Anastasia, Ray, Hector, Sunny, Dinah, Rachel, Dan and some other dudes that went. We met up with Sara, Natalie, Carla, Amanda, Nerissa, Javier, Jason, Sha, Freddie and some other people. Man... it took us a good half hour to find parking and then there was a line to get in the club. Y'all know how I hate long lines... *roll eyes*
Anyway, I spent the weekend at F.I.U. and it was cool... except for when I got this flu. I was actually missed by my dormmates... I got hugs and kisses like I had gone away for months... weird. Anyhoo... I actually kinda missed them too but don't tell em I said that! LOL
To my friends in Jamdown... (especially Kat, Renz, Lesley, Tracey, Odessa, Netty, Annabelle, Van-Van, etc) I miss you SO much...
To my friends in Trinidad (especially Poolsidecrew - who "dash mi whey", Maelle, Cookie, Yanns, my wonderful cousins, Roj, etc) I miss you guys too. Congrats to Shelly who's getting married in October... Special shoutout to Syndy and Barry... the big day is upon us! Wish I could be there...
To my friends in the rest of the world - Gen (in England), Danette (in Bahamas) I miss you guys too...
Last but not least... I miss my FAMILY! Ma, Dad, Mary, J-M, Stephen... my cousins... *weep*

First Official Day...
Hey y'all... it's my first day of college life and it's going okay so far.
I woke up at 7:30am and took my first shower in a community bathroom. It was okay despite the fact that... on second thought... let's just say my shower slippers never left my feet. LOL.
My classes begin at 12:45pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and end at 3:25pm so I'm happy with those times of course. It gives me free time for a job, study, sleep or liming. *smile*
Anyway, I'm in the computer lab so I can't stay long... (by the way, the hours FULLY suck. )

Anyway, I had orientation today and it was cool. I got up and introduced myself and when I said I was from Jamaica all the students applauded and were like "Whoo Hoo!" lol and when I said I'm going to be studying hard and partying hard I got a thunderous applause. LOL. Twas fun.
I also met my roommate. Her name is Salinae and she's from Bermuda. She seems to be pretty cool and also young but we'll see how she turns out... I'll officially be in my room as of tonight. Well, after we drop Mom @ the airport.
Anyway, since I am super exhausted I am off to bed... so...

So much on my mind...
It's 12:42am on Saturday, August 21, 2004. I should be in my bed... rather, in the air-bed that Abi and Ray pumped up for Mom and I... but, I am here... online re-reading old emails and typing in my blog.
I have WAY too many things on my mind and I cannot sleep. Ray, Roderick and I just finished watching the Johnson Family Vacation on dvd. It was sort of funny... I'm just glad I didn't pay my money to see it. LOL. The same goes for Hidalgo, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Thirteen Going On Thirty. (I watched all those this week). Still have Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2 to watch.
Anyway, yesterday I moved onto Cascia Hall (my ALL GIRLS *roll eyes* dorm) and when I got to my room I was greeted by a very spotty looking door (i.e. the door had paint missing... you know like when you take stuff that you've put up off the door... yeah, like that) and the walls still had tape on it. I was a bit upset that my roommate picked the better half of the room (oh yeah, I still haven't met my roommate) and our study desks and my chair were missing. Hopefully they'll be there when I get back. I met some pretty decent people today though... oh yeah! My R.A. is a nun. (yes, I said she's a NUN!) She's decent though and her name is Francesca. Mom made friends with her already.
Anyhoo... we left school at around 2:30 and went to Brandsmart and bought a cordless phone for me and a dvd player for Mom and Dad's bedroom and a discman for Mary. Then Abi, Mom and I went to Miami International Mall and I bought a school bag, denim jacket and top from Old Navy and some earrings from Claire's. (*grin*) I had to hide that from Mom... LOL.
I really should be getting to bed... especially since I've got orientation later this morning (8:30am to be precise!) so I should get crackalacking...

Hey Y'all... good news! The loan I applied for through the TERI Organization was FINALLY approved! Can you say *P-H-E-W*!?!? My Mom was so happy... just like she was yesterday when Mary got her CXC results. By the way, she got 3 ones, 4 twos and 1 three. The ones were in POB (Principles of Business), Language and I.T. (Information Technology); the twos were in Biology, Mathematics, Literature and Spanish; and the three was in Chemistry. BIG UP YUHSELF MARY!
Hmm... anything else happened today? Oh yeah... I spoke with Fiana Jenny *ahem* now Fiana Mesquita. It's been TWO years people!! It was SO great speaking to her again... she's a cool chica.
My Miami experience is proving better and better by the minute. Let's hope it lasts.

I'm B-A-A-A-A-C-K...
I have not posted in this thing for AGES! Please, please, please forgive me... I think that I am getting VERY bored with my blog as I have no links, no pics, no fancy design... it's just plain old B-O-R-I-N-G! *ick!*
Anyway, for those that don't know... (and if you don't know then you don't deserve to be in my life) I'm in Miami.
Why? Because I'm here to live my dream... the college dream (don't mind that I already have an associate's degree in hotel operations). I begin classes at the St. Thomas University in Opa Locka, Miami on Monday, August 23, 2004 and I am VERY excited.
My time table is so GREAT! I start classes at like 11 on Mondays and Wednesdays and finish by 3pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I start at like 8:30 and finish by 1pm and on Fridays... I am F-R-E-E! That's right... NO CLASSES! Whoo hoo! (LOl) Anyway, I shall use this time wisely... (like to get a job). Bet you thought I was gonna say shopping huh? LOL Nah... I'm broke like a joke.
Anyway, as soon as my blog genius (that would be Tish) arrives in Miami and has the time I'll get her to fix my blog and make it spiffy... like it once was.

Anyway, my sister is OFFICIALLY sweet sixteen and she's celebrating in fine style in Trinidad (where I should be).
I bet y'all are wondering why I'm online at this hour... well, I'll quench your curiousity. I came online to check the status of my loan and also to check my email. I also came on the computer to type up my resignation letter. It's short but sweet. My resignation from the Hilton is effective next week Friday. (that's August 13)
Hmm... what else do I have to tell you... oh yeah, I pick up my visa on Thursday. I'm excited about that.

Happy Emancipation Day to all my free people in the Caribbean. Today is the day we look back on 166 years of freedom. It is a day that we look towards achieving mental and spiritual freedom. It is a day that we pay homage to our forefathers and the hell they were put through so that we could have the freedom we do today. It is up to us to use this freedom to our benefit and not to our disadvantage. Pray that the ignorant minded will become open minded and accept the things they cannot change and that they gain the wisdome to know the difference.
Anyway, that was my little 2 cents...
Just wanted to inform my blog readers that Miami plans are still running smoothly to date. The only thing left to get is my loan. I got through with my student visa (thank God) and I pick it up this Thursday.
My weekend so far has been pretty quiet. I haven't gone a place since yesterday (except for mass this morning). I went out on Friday night though. *grin* Let's talk about that...
So Friday night, Kathryn, Stephen (Silvera), Tracey and I all went to Blink in Temple Hall, Stony Hill. It was OFF THA CHAIN!!! I fully got my $2000 ($200TT) worth (which is more than I can say for High Society's Special Delivery). I saw SO many people I had not seen in a LONG while like Karen Dabdoub, Tamara Younis, Charlene Rousseau, etc. Of course, I saw little kiddies there too. Sigh. They are really taking over. Damn kids! LOL
I was in my element around 3ish in the morning because they played DESTRA!!!!!!!! *double grin* So of course, me, Trace and Alicia (not Cooper) were all wining together and getting on bad! Kathryn and Alicia were G-O-N-E... (as in drunk... heh heh heh) Ms. Silvera, I'm sure, will beg to differ...
I limed with Kat, Ali Coop and Odessa for most of the night and for the other parts of it, I limed with Lisa, Annabelle, Jason, Denise, the twins, Kimberly C, Lezley, Tanicia and Tanya. I missed seeing Adrienne though. =0(
Anyway, Evon... props to you and Beachie... y'all did a TREMENDOUS job. I mean... I got home at 6am and I was still rearing to go! (Until I hit the bed of course... LOL)
