So... I am awake! At 12:14pm (formally 1:14pm thanks to Daylight Savings)! Actually, I've been up since 11:30...
Why?
ROOJAY woke my ass up! Who's Roojay you may ask? Click on her link for more info. (That was free advertising right there mija LOL) Anyway, SHE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed her Mexican/Suriname/New York self. (Even though she's dumb whack... LOL - KIDDING!)
Anyway, Blink was cool... but my outfit was WAY cooler! *grin* I went with Neima and Kathryn and we got there after 1am (pre-DST) and as we drove to look for parking, we felt slightly overdressed. Luckily, we weren't. I wore my famous black tube dress with a mesh, long sleeved, black top underneath and mesh stockings underneath. I also wore these black pointed toe shoes and cat ears. I got a lotta "Catwoman" comments. LOL Man! I felt like I was back in Jamaica! I saw loads of people who were surprised to see me AND Kat! LOL! It was hilarious! I saw Kamise Clare, Stephen Silvera, Kelli-Jean, Ashleigh Alakijah, Stuart Levy, Tahir Garcia, Bigga, Alfred, Richard (loser lol), Erin Mitchell, Hollanders, Breanna Rae and the list goes on and on. Quizz from whaddat.com and RE TV was in the house of course. Anyway, the music was cool... learnt the Sesame Street dance. LOL. We left at around 4am I think? Who cares... I went to sleep after 5am this morning.

Man, I'm so exhausted! I didn't go to bed till 5am this morning.
Why? Because last night was school's Halloween party and it was the JUMP OFF! (Another Roojay-ism - I just love em!!!! *grin*) For the first ever (since I've been here at least) St. Thomas had a kick ass party! The DJ's played well... but, due to technical difficulties, we missed out on some music and the party ended at EXACTLY 2am. *roll eyes* Anyway, my hall (Cascia South Wing baby!) dressed to kill! (Most of us anyway) My R.A. (Gisela) dressed as Cleopatra and she looked mad hot! My roomie (Salintae) was a cute lil witch in black and orange and my 'other' roomie (Cheraton) dressed as an Island Gyal (not girl lol) in twigs and palm leaves she got from outside the dorms. LOL. I dressed as a bad school girl in mesh stockings, a short denim pleated skirt, a tie and a white blouse. As soon as I get the pictures I'll post them. I'm gonna make a list of all the people in my dorm who dressed up for the party. Here goes...

Right now there are 3 other people in the lab (thank God) and I'm on one of the student computers. Richard has once again removed the internet from the front desk. Steups. Actually, I don't mind a bit because I have loads of reading to do. I have approximately 3 hours and some minutes left. Great. Two more people just came in... *cry*
Anyway, I'm going out with Kat and Neima later... should be fun.

Tired as ever...
... I just got back on campus from an evening out with Neima and Kat. (Yes people, I've finally seen my LEG! WHOO HOO!!!! I missed her so much! *grin*)
Neima was gracious enough to take Salintae, Cheraton, Rachel and myself on the mall excursion. We ended up going to Aventura Mall because I needed to find something to wear for Halloween and shoes and socks for Mary. I eventually found a pair of cat ears and some mesh stuff... *bleh*
Anyway, tonight's the school's Halloween party and tomorrow night is Blink's Thriller Edition. I'm going to both... it should be a fun weekend... and hard working as well... I have NUFF school work to do...

How cool is that? I think on Monday night I'll read one of my poems. I can't wait!

... I skipped Math class for the first time and I loved it! This morning was so peaceful and beautiful that I just had to be outdoors! I was outside for a good 20 minutes before I decided to go to my room and chill out until T.V. Drama. Now it's all overcast and bleh... good ole Miami weather huh?
Anyway, KAT'S HERE!!!! *grin* I think she called while I was in T.V. Drama. The caller i.d. came up as "no number" so I'm thinking it was her. Then again, I could be wrong and I have no voicemail right now... it's been giving trouble. I'm excited! I can't wait to see her... I miss her. I miss all my friends back in JA.
So, this weekend is Halloween... and everyone's getting a costume. Me? I'm just getting... fat. Ewww... I feel gross. I need to eat properly and to stop eating snacks (snackies as Regine calls them) at odd hours. (Shavon, do not say a word! LOL) I want to be a devil-angel... I wanna get angel wings and devil horns or a devil tail and a halo. Of course, I'll be wearing full black.
Sigh... I need to save some dinero. I wanna get an outfit for halloween and the "props", and I also need to get school shoes and socks for Mary, some plastics sheets for Stephen and John-Mark's beds and a top from Old Navy for Mom. Whoop tee doo! *roll eyes*
Anyway, I wanna go rest but I have a Black Student's Union meeting at 3:30pm and it's now 1:56pm. Maybe I should lie down for 1/2 hour or maybe I should skip the meeting. Heh. We'll see.

A Pretty Okay Day...
So I had an okay day today...
I got back my World of Religion Mid-Term today and I got an A. *smile*
I played a game about 15 minutes ago and I won a DVD player. *grin* I'm thinking I'm going to send it back to Jamaica with Kathryn for John-Mark's birthday present. Then for Christmas I'm going to buy some disney dvd's for John-Mark and Stephen. What do y'all think? Good idea?
Anyway... I'm enjoying my cell phone so far... *smile* I need to figure out how to set up my voicemail though... and also what I'm getting for Rene and Rachel for their birthdays.
Oooh! In a couple hours my leg will be here!!! *grin* She gets in at 9:47AM on American Airlines. Can't wait to see her!

... it's for my first bad grade at St. Thomas University. A "C"!!! *Sigh* I got it in my T.V. Drama "group discussion". We got B as a group, but for the individual grade I got C. I am very upset with myself because I know I could have done more research. It's my fault I got such a bad grade... I didn't think I would have gotten a C because I can normally "bullshit" my way out of trouble. Guess it didn't work this time. It means I've been slacking off. I need to get my act back together. And I will.

I Survived...
... Universal Studios' Horror Nights! *smile* Right now I am at work and I am on borrowed energy. It's 1:17pm and I finish work at approximately 4:30pm. I cannot wait because I am exhausted, I have laundry to do and I need to find a ride to F.I.U.
Anyway, I had so much fun yesterday/this morning and as a result, I think I'll be hoarse soon. (Yes, I screamed out my daylight! LOL)
We left school at approximately 3:30p.m. and got to Universal Studios, Orlando at 8p.m. It was about 80 something of us and we travelled down on two buses. Our bus had a/c and a pretty smelly bathroom... but for the most part it was an okay ride. A big group of us were supposed to stick together but that did not work so it ended up being me, Salintae, Rachel and Patrick's(Krabby Patty) brother Jeffrey. By the way, Jeffrey is a little smooth operator... he's only 13 by the way. LOL. Anyway, we were pretty much scared for the most part (lol of course I screamed the most). We went on the Hulk rollercoaster ride, the Spiderman ride and the Jurassic Park ride twice. We also went into this disco themed haunted house. Everyone else went on Dr. Doom's Fear of Falling ride and then we met up with Patrick and his other lil bro Robert and everyone, except Salintae and I, went on the Dueling Dragons roller coaster ride.
All in all it was a great but tiring night and it was worth the $40. We met back at the buses at around 2:05am and got back to St. Thomas at 7am this morning.

Man... I REALLY need to get to sleep before 2 and 3 am! Especially on Monday and Wednesday nights.
Why?
I have 8:30am classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I have to be up by 7:15/7:30 (if I don't want breakfast) in order to get to class at 8:30 on the dot.
I went to bed at 3am this morning and felt like utter crap when the alarm unfortunately woke me up. I struggled to get out of bed, took forever in the shower and took a day and a half to get dressed. I got to class late, but luckily Dr. Montes wasn't there as yet.
I almost fell asleep in Maths class and so had to leave and go to the vending machine to eat some chocolate chip cookies to perk me up. By the time I got back, class was over (thank God). For my next class (TV Drama) I had a group presentation in the form of a panel. We had to discuss the 1956 play/television drama Requiem for a Heavyweight. Of course, I yawned through that as well and could not think on the spot. *Sigh* It was graded of course, and my professor was grading the group and also giving us individual marks. Let's hope I got an A. *cross fingers*
After all my classes finished, I went to lunch with Sam and Salintae and then went back to my room. I tried to go to sleep at 3, but the phone kept waking me up. It was only at around 4:30 that I finally got some sleep. I eventually woke up at 6:30pm.
Ooh... guess what y'all? I FINALLY ordered my cell phone from MetroPCS! *smile* There was a nice little deal on the internet so I grabbed it. Unfortunately the cell (one of the old, non-coloured Nokia's) cost me $99. I couldn't wait on dear ole' cuz to "give" me her old cell... if I held my breath, I'd be dead by now. Trust me. Anyway, the plan however, is $45 a month and it includes unlimited local calls and unlimited long distance calls (within the Unites States) anytime, voicemail, unlimted text and picture messaging, call waiting, caller i.d. and threeway calling! Isn't that great? And there's no contract and no credit checks. Whoo hoo! The only unfortunate thing is that I cannot use the phone outside of Florida. That REALLY sucks because I plan to travel a lot while I'm up here. Oh well... maybe next year I'll be ready for T-Mobile or Cingular (IF they improve).
Anyway, Shavon and Roojay are G-O-N-E...

Just Kidding! LOL!
I miss them terribly... it won't be the same for 10 whole days! (At least Shavon returns on Monday morning... but Roojay doesn't return till Halloween)

Boy, am I tired!
Waaaaays... today was a LONG ASS DAY! Lawdy lawd!
I woke up at 9am this morning in order to study for my 12:45 World of Religion mid-term. Hah! I fixed up my room, showered, dressed, limed a little with Salintae, then left for work at 10:25. I was 1 minute late for work... and to top it off, the lab was SUPER busy! Could I get in a good amount of studying? Hells no. So I only ended up going over my past quizzes and reading a few pages of notes. I was so annoyed... why aren't people more computer literate jedd? Steups. Anyway, I ended up leaving work at 12:40 so by the time I got to class I had no time to re-read over.
Luckily, the mid-term consisted of 50 multiple choice questions and about 20 or more were questions we got on the quiz. Hopefully I'll get an A (by some miracle). After some relief at seeing something familiar, I went to my Society and Mass Media class happily and expecting to relax.
Boy, was I EVER wrong!!! Our fricking professor decided to give us our first pop quiz of the semester. All I have to say is that she better not give out her address before Halloween... I have lots of toilet paper, if you get my drift. Damn! I so failed that fricking quiz! Aaaargh!!
Anyway, after cursing creatively in my mind for a while, I went to my room to chill. Then, Salintae, Regine, Somaria, Sade and I went to get copies of our room keys and also to take me to get my check cashed. That took us a while.
At around 6pm, Sam, Roojay and I took a trip to Walmart. As we walked out of our dorms to the parking lot we saw this HUGE ASS raincloud that looked like it was about burst! It looked like it came straight out of a Stephen King novel! That shit was scary! Anyway, when we got onto the 826 it began to pour. And pour it did. Man, Miami must have the shittiest draning. Why? Because draining does NOT exist! I swear, the car felt like it was fricking floating at times. Steups. Anyway, we spent about 2 hours in Walmart, then went to Winn Dixie (I have a Winn Dixie card now!) and then to Taco Bell and Wendy's. We got home after 10pm.
Phew!
I am SO exhausted! I feel like a whole day has passed, trust me!
Anyway, just wanna wish Shavon and Roojay safe flights. They're both going home for a while. Roojay for 10 days and Shavon for the weekend. I'll miss you guys!!!! *sniff sniff*

LOL and I'm SO not making fun of you...)

Man... I just did a fare check on BWIA's website to see how much it'd cost for me to go to Trinidad (from Miami) for 2 months. It almost costs US$1,000 for a round-trip ticket! *shockedface* Then I checked the cost for me to go to Trinidad from JA and it's almost US$600. *shockedface* Lawks... I have REAL saving to do if my ass wanna go Trinidad for summer jedd... and next year, the fares would have probably increased! Gadzooks! Being poor sucks ass!
Guess what, I still haven't started studying yet. Guess I can do that later on since I ain't going nowhere.

My mummy booked my ticket for December 12 to return on January 5/6, 2005. I'm so happy! And here's the greatest... Monsignor is paying for half of the ticket! Isn't he sweet? He heard Mom and Dad talking about the cost and how they were trying to find a cheaper fare online and he just handed them half of the fare. He's really like a grandfather... I'll have to get him something extra nice this year. Meanwhile, my uncle is still looking for cheaper fares for a ticket to go home. We'll see how it works out.
So... I finally saw the Steps Medley video... LOL... I still cannot believe I'm in the video 3 times! Twice with Snakey (Ali Coop) and once by myself! Y'all can check it out on www.realvibes.net and when you're watching look out for me in Wayne Marshall's part, Zumjay's part and in Bling Dawg's part. I'm in a black dress with my hair out in the first two parts and in the last, I'm in a skirt and red top. I'm excited! (LOL... okay, I'm exaggerating... I just think it's kinda cool... )

Anyhoo... yesterday was a nice day... I went to mass (finally!) and then I went "on a ends" with Sara, Alex, 'Jersey' and Krystel. Let's just say I came back light-headed. *wink* And fyi: all I did was just sit in the car and relax; nothing more.
So, right now I'm trying to get through to Uncle Ian so that I can go to Maryland for Thanksgiving so that I can see my family. Hopefully he'll sponsor half... or maybe not. Hmm...
Anyway, I bought myself a student advantage card with Greyhound so that my travels will be a bit more affordable. I'm also going to try to get to New York for a day. We'll see how that goes.
Well, right about now I'm alone in my room... Salintae's gone to spend time with her mom (who is a sexy mama btw *smile*) and honestly, I miss my roomie. *sadface* (That was random, wasn't it? LOL)

Crazy Juice? Hah!
So... yesterday was an okay day...
I went to work and left at 4:30 on the dot for the first time ever. (I was so happy! lol) Then I limed around for a bit... and then Kelli popped up on MSN and TOLD ME that I was going out with her. *LOL* I told her that I was broke and she was like "Nuh worry bout dat, I have free tickets."
*Ahem* So unnu know how dat go... mi get ready ONE time! *LOL*
She had gotten 3 free tickets for this party called Crazy Juice at Palm Village (off Ocochobee Road). We (Kelli, Derrick and I) got there at around 2:30am or so... and the first people I see? Actually, the first people I heard ("Carole-Anne!!!") were Adrienne and Kimbile. *LOL* I also saw Nicole (from Holy Childhood) and Dianne (from ICHS) at the gate. When we got in I had to pee so bad! (It was fricking cold!!!) And guess what? I saw more people I knew... (shuddup y'all! lol)... I saw Matthew deMorcado (haven't seen him in ages), Stuart Levy and Charlene Rousseau... it was great! Oh yeah... I saw Alfred too... he was mad because I haven't called him in ages. Not my fault the school phones never work...
By the way, the liquor totally finished at 3:30am!!! I was "dumb tight" (thanks Natasja!) and when the next set came, it finished in like 15 minutes!! Guess who had coke all night?
Anyway, I got home at 5:45am this morning... I was SUPER tired... and my feet hurt like whoa... but all in all I had fun.

Everyone's been talking about transferring to another school... I don't think I want to... actually, I know I don't want to. Even though I'd LOVE to be at F.I.U. it's just too big... I like the fact that St. Thomas is small... sometimes it's too small and everyone knows everyone's business. A few of us have a little "daily news report" going on... LOL. It's three of us actually... heh.

Missing the Trini Crew
I just logged off triniscene.com. I know y'all haven't heard/seen me talk about it for a longtime. That's because my visits are very infrequent just because I'm a bit bored of the forums. I've been a member since May 2002. Two years and it's amazing how my life has made a DRASTIC change because of this little online community.
Anyway, one of my really good friends who I miss IMMENSELY is a member of this community. She and I were friends before she joined but the friendship got better thanks to TS. Unfortunately, I haven't been to Trinidad for a lengthy period so we haven't limed properly since Christmas 2002. We limed in Christmas 2003 but I could have done with some more liming. Anyway, the rest of the crew I did not see when I went in Christmas 2003 and I have not heard from them in ages. Everytime I call they're never home or they never answer their cells and whenever they pop-up on MSN it's always one of their friends. Sometimes (and I hope I'm dead wrong) I feel like they're avoiding me and I have no idea why. It hurts like hell because I've shared a lot of good times (and bad) with them and they really helped me through the confusing periods of my life.
Leigh, Alicia, Nicole, Felicia... I MISS YOU GUYS. I don't know if you'll ever see this post... maybe Maelle will read it and tell you guys about it or something...
Believe me when I say it's not a desperate attempt to keep friends or anything like that... it's just that I miss them and love them loads and would do anything for them. They know that.

Bored... at work...
So right now I should be at the front desk of the computer lab checking for student i.d.'s and making sure the students sign in.
But I'm not. Instead, I'm here searching for classes for next semester and making sure I register as early as possible so I can get the good professors. I definitely want back Dr. Montes for English 102. I'm his star student. *grin* (Or so he says... lol)
I had my Maths test today in Statistics... I'm hoping I got an A. I'm also hoping that my extra-credit paper is totally correct. I got a little confused about calculating the class limits. *ick* Really I think I got carried away with the fact that I was actually being phoned and called over to help other people with Mathematics. The ONE subject in my life that I had a mental block with. It still amazes me.
In other test news... I got another B *sad face* for my World of Religion test on Islam BUT I got an A for my T.V. Drama "critical" quiz which I thought I was going to fail! WHOO HOO! I'm so happy about that. It just goes to show that common sense DOES go a long way.
Anyway, in the meanwhile, I'm hoping that Mom and Dad do purchase the cell phone for me, that would help A LOT since my "lovely" cousin Abigail isn't doing shit for me. Weekend Vibes...
Well... it's almost the end of this Carnival weekend... and I have gone to any fetes?
NOPE.
Y'all must be wondering why... but these fetes are MAD expensive! From $30 upward and drinks and/or food are NOT included in the cover charge! That's like $1800 Jamaican upward. Not me at all. I can wait till next summer to see Machel, Destra, Rupee, etc.
Anyway, this weekend has been a rather long but quiet one. Right now I'm at a friend's and we just came back from Dolphin Mall. We went to see "The Forgotten" (starring Julianne Moore) which was excellent and then we ate at Johnny Rocket's. The only bad part of today was missing the bus from Dolphin Mall back to F.I.U. Luckily, we saw a familiar face and got a ride. *phew*
On Friday, Sara took Natasja, Salintae, Cheraton, Anastaija and I to the mall. We were supposed to go to Dolphin Mall but ended up going to The Falls at the end of the Palmetto Expressway (826). It's a really nice mall. Of course, broke-ass me STILL had to purchase some stuff. So I bought 3 pairs of earrings (Claire's of course) and a top in Burdine Macy's. Fun fun! LOL
Anyway, that's about it... and please, no comments about carnival... I'm already more upset that I wont be able to go to the RENAISSANCE, BLACK CHINEY and STONE LOVE party off Okochobee Road. *sigh*

Why?
Because I am so low on funds right now it's not even funny. Oh well... hopefully I'll be able to go to the parade on Sunday. If I had a choice I'd go to the jouvert fete/concert tonight because Machel, Destra, etc will be there. Unfortunately I have work at 9:30AM tomorrow morning and the fete ends at 10am.
Right now my boss is loading Microsoft office, an anti-virus programme and some other coolstuff. *grin* My laptop has bluetooth connectivity too! *double grin* I need to get me a cell phone with bluetooth so I can have some fun. Also need to get a webcam and a printer/scanner. I saw some in Walmart last night for like $80.00. Not bad for a printer/scanner. I'll invest in that for sure next month.

I am SO looking forward to this weekend! I'm going to a carnival fete! And guess who will be there??? MACHEL, RUPEE, ALLISON HINDS, WYCLEF JEAN, FAT JOE, NINA SKY, DESTRA, BUNJI and the list goes on and on... I cannot wait! *grin* It's at Bayside Hut and it's $20. I so wish I had brought my bong with me so that I could have bought a six-pack of beer to put in it for the party. *sings* I'm so excited!!
Oh... my package is supposed to be arriving in a few hours... (please God)... I am so excited about that as well. My very own laptop or desktop. *sigh* I'm pleased as punch.

I climbed into my bed at 3:00AM this morning... helped a friend in need till 3:45am and eventually fell asleep by 4:00AM. Would you believe I had not one but TWO exams today? One was at 8:30am... needless to say I was 5 minutes late for it, but because I'm the professor's favourite (supposedly) I got extra time. My 2nd exam was for T.V. Drama... I've never written so much bullshit in my life... but I hope it gets me an A. I'm dead serious here.
Well... in 2 more days I'll be receiving my package from Microtel Computers and I am FREAKING excited! *grin* I'm sure Salintae must be tired of my Jamaican ass at her computer all the time. LOL.
Oh... tonight I began my process of building my credit in this freaking country. Why? Because I tried to get a T-Mobile cell phone yesterday and was turned down for no reason (this was via the phone) and then I went online and found out the actual reason they wanted another i.d. besides the social security number. It was to find out your credit history. In short, I really need a credit card.
Anyway, I bought a pair of black dressy-ish shoes from Payless for $8 (yai!) and a pair of Spongebob socks. *blush* (the same ones you told me not to get Trace... *blush*)
Well, that's about it... I'm gonna get some food and study for my World of Religion exam which is tomorrow afternoon.

I saved a life today... (while almost ending mine)
So I finally got some sleep after going for 24 hours without. Can you believe I WALKED THREE MILES this morning (on borrowed energy of course) without sleep, eating and stretching? Call me crazy... but at least I did it without stopping. I think this is a great feat for someone who hasn't exercised since July. Anyway, I think I mentioned it... it was a "Walk For Hope" for finding a cure for Breast Cancer. It was held in Aventura and a good amount of people turned out for it. Americans really support something once they feel it's right and it's a good cause. (Of course that's why some dotish ones supported "Bushman" and the invasion of Iraq. *roll eyes*) Anyway, I'm going to be on t.v. *grin* I don't know what station though. It started at 8AM and finished at 10AM... it was really good.
Oh! Good news... I know who bought my "surprise" *smile* it was Uncle Mark! I knew it. *grin*

Bedrock and PyjamaJam... LITERALLY!
So last night STU FINALLY had it's pyjama party. This was after weeks of advertising it then cancelling it (thanks to all the endless hurricanes)... and to sum up the night... I'll just say it was an okay attempt for a Catholic University.
Jason came to hang out with me and as usual he just stood up with a beer in his hand... he didn't move for the entire time he was there. *roll eyes* My friends think he's hot... (yes, this is bighead chinee bwoy mi ah talk bout LOL)... he left at around 1am this morning. The party finished at 2:15. Oh... there was this drunk chica who had to be rushed to the hospital... the funny thing was that this girl takes a whole set of people in her car when it's time for partying in the Grove but only ONE person went with her to the hospital... and that ONE person was no friend of hers. It tells you something about getting friendly with people... you just never know who the true friends are. Thank GOD I already have mine.
Anyway, I'm at work at the moment and I am HUNGRY!!!! (Also a bit sleepy... but I guess I'll survive.)
Oh yeah, I'm supposed to give y'all details re: Microtel Computers right? Well... I don't have any really. All I know is that I'm getting a package from them this Thursday. They "claim" it's a surprise so they refuse to tell me what exactly I'm getting (I know it's a computer but I don't know if it's a laptop or a desktop) and they also refuse to tell me who bought the damn thing. Oh... let me tell y'all what I'm involved in at my lov-ah-ly university. I'm currently a student ambassador, I'm a member of the Black Student Union, a member of the Caribbean Cultural Society and I'm going to be a part of the school's newspaper and the school's tv channel. I'm planning to start a Best Buddies Chapter here but I think I'm gonna wait till Spring to do that. I still have things to do before I concentrate on that.
